Alternative Therapy for Hair Loss

Therapy for Hair Loss

These days, Hair Loss represents a constant concern of dermatologists all over the world. More and more people complain of this embarrassing condition that affects their lives dramatically. There are all kinds of drugs, topical creams, and Hair Treatments meant to stop or at least to slow hair loss. Alternative therapy, related to acupuncture, scalp massages, and usage of herbs, is another option with remarkable results that can prevent hair from falling out.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is known for centuries to heal and speed up recovery. This technique uses needles inserted into certain points of the body in order to stimulate the flow of the body’s energy, named the “qi” energy. When the level of “qi” does not reach the proper value, or worse “qi” is blocked, the human body weakens and is exposed to illness.

This rule also applies in the case of hair loss. The role of acupuncture is to focus on increasing the blood circulation in the scalp that allows the hair follicles to be nourished with the nutrients responsible for hair growth. The success of the method greatly depends on the acupuncturist’s skills and experience, as well as on the combination of acupuncture with nutritional supplements and dietary changes.

Scalp massages

Scalp massages are beneficial for improving the blood flow to the hair roots, for relaxation, and reducing stress. Clean your hair carefully to remove dirt and styling products before performing a scalp massage. Use your fingertips to cover the forehead and scalp areas with slow, circular motions.  Start with the forehead and alternate pressure movements with release movements. Keep moving towards the center of the scalp, and go down to the base of the skull. Do not use your fingernails to avoid scratching the scalp and breaking the hair.

You can boost the effect of scalp massage by using essential oils. Pomegranate seed oil contains high percentage of punicic acid, which increases hair flexibility and refreshes a dull hair color. Rosemary oil and sweet almond oil are rich in vitamins A, B, and E acting like anti-aging factors that revitalize the activity of hair follicles and prevent Hair Loss. Avocado oil is a great source of amino acids and proteins necessary to fortify the hair, while the olive oil, due to its content of monounsaturated fats, has been used from old times to keep hair healthy and strong.

Chinese herbs

Fo-ti is considered one of the best herbal remedies for hair restoration. It is also known as a powerful anti-aging tonic and detoxifying agent. The Reishi mushroom, called in China the “mushroom of immortality”, is another option to fight against hair loss. Rich in antioxidants, Reishi improves the blood flow promoting hair growth and rejuvenating the existing hair. Wu Wei Zin is used to cure baldness and is included as a natural ingredient in the formula of many hair restoration products. Nu Shen Zi removes toxins from blood and ensures a better circulation to the scalp. Chinese herbs help hair to grow again and also restore its original pigmentation.
